Perfect Bar copycat
Making your own protein bars couldn’t be easier and the ingredients list is short and sweet. Did I also mention these are no-bake protein bars? If you like Perfect Bars, you are going to love these easy homemade protein bars; and if you’ve never had one the texture reminds me of cookie dough. It only takes a few minutes to put together and then you can stick them in the fridge and forget about them until you need a snack.
Let’s Save Some Money!
Besides being quick and easy, making these is so much cheaper than buying the store-bought protein bars! Last I checked, Costco had them for $20 a box. And with these, using natural organic peanut butter, raw honey and quality protein powder, you can really make these as healthy as you want because you control the ingredients. I’m always trying to find ways to sneak in more protein into my diet and my kids! My kids love these protein bars as a quick breakfast on those days when we are in a hurry…and to be honest, who isn’t in a hurry most mornings? And at 13 grams of protein per bar, pair this with a hardboiled egg or a smoothie and you’re golden! You could even roll these into bite sized balls to make some delicious peanut butter protein balls!

I love the texture of the Perfect Bar and these are spot on. I have found that they really retain their consistency if you store them in the freezer. It seems like they’d be hard as a rock, but straight from the freezer, they are…well…perfect! Perfect Bars are required to be refrigerated anyway so it makes sense that these would be too. You can store these protein bars in the fridge too, but if I’m grabbing this for a snack later on and throwing it into my purse, I want it to stay cold a little longer, so the freezer works best.

- Storage: Wrap the homemade bars individually in cling wrap or wax paper and store in a ziploc bag or airtight container in the fridge or freezer until ready to enjoy!

Storing your homemade protein bars:
I used Press and Seal wrap to individually wrap each bar, so they’d be ready to go when I’m in a hurry. I wrapped each bar and stored them in a large Ziploc freezer bag in the freezer. Surprisingly, these are NOT rock hard when they come out of the freezer!

Flavors and toppings
You can use chocolate or vanilla protein powder and any toppings you want! The beauty is, you can really experiment with flavor combinations. For the protein bars pictured, I used 1st Phorm Pumpkin Spice protein powder with mini dark chocolate chips and sprouted pumpkin seeds on top. They were delicious and my son called them “Gingerbread bars”.
Here are some other optional add-ins and flavor combinations you can try:
Strawberries & Cream: Vanilla protein + crushed freeze dried strawberries + white chocolate chips
Double Chocolate: chocolate protein + mini chocolate chips + rolled oats/chia seeds
Snickers: Chocolate protein + Crushed peanuts + mini chocolate chips
Crunchy: Vanilla protein + chia seeds + rolled oats + hemp seeds + sunflower seeds
Trail Mix: Vanilla protein + trail mix + dried fruit
