This is my basic go-to recipe for homemade meatballs from scratch. A great recipe to keep in your kitchen arsenal. Made with savory Italian herbs, parmigiano Reggiano, and breadcrumbs; these meatballs are tender on the inside and a delicious addition to any pasta dish or enjoy them on their own with some marinara! Simple and delicious!

Cooking Basics
Homemade meatballs is just one of those recipes you learn how to make and keep in your head. It’s one of those basic things, you may cook often enough that you need a good recipe and you stick to it. I’ve tried a few different variations for meatballs from scratch but this seems to be the one I make over and over and it’s always a winner. I love having recipes like this one that are simple and easy enough to memorize so I don’t have to keep going back to read what to do next. After you make these a couple times, you’ll have it in your head and that, to me is where the fun begins!
Getting Creative
Once I have a basic recipe in my head, that is where all the fun a creativity in cooking lies! Once you know the basic ingredients in something, you can start adding your own flavor and flare to it. If you are just learning to cook, I would encourage you to start with some basic recipes that you know you will cook often and practice adding new things to them. Experimenting with fresh herbs and spices and seeing what you like and what you don’t, its a great way to start!
Kid Approved
I can honestly say, my five-year-old is probably one of the pickiest eaters on the face of the earth. And in saying that, I know most moms have a picky eater in the family. I am happy to report that my picky one, asks…..no, DEMANDS that I make these all the time. So fear not. These were a true winner in my household especially when paired with spaghetti and my homemade marinara sauce (I’ll have to post that one soon!). And really…who doesn’t love a beautiful plate of homemade spaghetti and meatballs from scratch?
What You’ll Need to Make Meatballs from Scratch:

- 1 lb grass fed ground beef (80/20) You can use any ground beef you prefer.
- 1/2 Cup Italian breadcrumbs (homemade or store bought is fine!)
