These spicy ginger wellness shots are a must-have during cold and flu season! Made with orange, lemon, ginger and turmeric, these zesty little shots pack a punch. Give your immune system some love and make some to have on hand.
What are wellness shots?
Wellness shots are a little concoction of powerful all natural ingredients such as ginger, turmeric and garlic. Usually in a juice form, these wellness shots are great to take in the morning for an easy immune system boost.
I’ve seen a lot of these wellness shots marketed in grocery stores and I’ve tried my fair share. Some are tasty and some not so much. They are usually in a 2 oz little bottle, often in the produce section and gosh they’re kind of expensive! Ranging from $1.99 to almost $4 each, I looked at the ingredients and I thought I can make this…fresher and cheaper! I didn’t have any 2 oz bottles so I got on Amazon and found the perfect ones. They are glass and even came with a tiny funnel, perfect! Click here for the link.

Let Food Be Thy Medicine
It always amazes me how food was designed to heal. Real, natural, raw food. It was designed by the most amazing Creator to nourish us and protect us at a cellular level. We have all these miraculous benefits at our fingertips and TONS of scientific and medical research to prove that these foods do in fact heal and prevent illness in our bodies.
What are the health benefits of these Spicy Ginger Wellness Shots?
GINGER is loaded with antioxidants and has antibacterial properties as well. It can ease nausea, period cramps, and sore muscles. It can also help to fight off diseases and reduces signs of aging! See more here.
TURMERIC, known as the “golden spice” can help with depression, type 2 diabetes and viral infections according to WebMD. It is also high in antioxidants and so much more. We are adding black pepper to these shots because it helps aid in the absorption and efficacy of the turmeric. Read more on that here.
GARLIC & HONEY have antibiotic, antifungal and antiviral properties. Perfect additions in my opinion for a wellness shot! They also have so many benefits together including heart health and reducing blood pressure.
CITRUS fruits contain lots of vitamin C to help support your immune system. They also contain flavonoids that promote heart health. Read here for more information.
ACV with the mother contains probiotics, polyphenols, antioxidants. It can lower blood sugar, blood pressure and aid in weight loss. You want to be sure your ACV says “with the mother” such as this brand because it contains the gut healthy bacteria that is used to ferment the vinegar. I have also found many stores are starting to carry their own store brand “with the mother” as well!
Let’s Make These!
Directions:
- Add all of your ingredients, water and ACV to a high-powered blender and blend until smooth. I have the nutribullet and it’s amazing!
- Using a large bowl and a mesh strainer, strain the liquid. It helps to use a spoon to help move the pulp around so the liquid can get through. You will need to do a small amount at a time, rinsing you strainer in between.
- Once strained, pour your liquid gold into a measuring cup with a spout so that you can easily pour.
- Use a small funnel to pour the liquid into your bottles, leaving about a quarter inch from the top of the bottles.
- Shake and enjoy first thing in the morning or right away at the first signs of a cold! Cheers!
- Store in the fridge for up to a week.
