Choose Your Spice Level
My husband and I tend to like our salsa on the spicier side. We grew a lot of habaneros and jalapenos this year and we put them to good use! The beauty of making your own restaurant style salsa at home is that you control the spice level! So, spice it up if you love that heat or leave out the seeds if you still want that delicious flavor of habanero without so much intensity. This recipe is so customizable so feel free to play with the ratios.
Thinner Restaurant Style Salsa
I’ve noticed that restaurant style salsa is typically thinner and has smaller chunks in it. The flavors meld together so well too especially after a day or two and all the flavors have had a chance to mingle. To make this salsa restaurant style, I use my food processor. You’ll want to put all the ingredients into the food processor and just pulse until it reaches the desired consistency. It gets there fast, and you don’t want to overprocess, or it will just be a soupy mess. You will, however, need to strain off the excess juices so that you are left with that perfectly fine restaurant style salsa that’s so deliciously dippable.

For A Chunkier Salsa
You can easily make this a chunkier salsa by just chopping your ingredients by hand. The chunkier you chop the ingredients, the more it will be like a pico de gallo and less restaurant style. I personally love both ways and we switch off all the time. A chunkier Pico is so good on tacos, nachos, eggs or even a salad.
